Navigating the Next AI Paradigm Shift

Imagine a life without fire, books, electricity, tap water, a watch, or a mobile phone, most of which we take for granted in our current times. We wake up, without a heartbeat move on with our lives, using each of them in some form or shape; without giving a thought to how they came up to be.

It’s the norm, and any disruption is an irritant that could perhaps put people off their daily routine.

In light of this, you could argue that significant technological revolutions throughout history have fundamentally altered the economy, infrastructure, and way of life. Each epoch, each revolution, as it unfurls itself, paves the path for the subsequent one.

The steam engines of the first industrial revolution breathed life into factories. Electrification then illuminated our world, and the digital age interconnected it, spawning a realm of endless possibilities. Possibilities that humans’ as a species did not imagine at that point in time.

Much like the previous ones, we stand at the precipice of another monumental shift , witnessing another paradigm-shifting revolution driven by artificial intelligence (AI) and automation.

But as with all revolutions before it, AI is not an endpoint, but instead a bridge, connecting the accomplishments of our past to the unimaginable potential of our future that we are yet to imagine to its fullest potential for the next revolution to come.

In this post, we’ll look back at previous industrial revolutions, compare them to the rise of AI, and speculate onow the AI revolution may transform society after computers can match or exceed human intelligence in countless domains.
